Award Winning Chorus
The halls of Holy Child Academy are truly alive with the sound of music. Our children experience the joy of singing and music from their first day of school. Stroll through our Early Childhood Center and hear our youngest children singing seasonal songs and playing music related games, stop in our lunch room and our children will be singing a thank you prayer, visit Connelly Hall and hear the enthusiastic sounds of our vocal and hand bell choirs practicing for the next school performance. By 8th grade, our students are musically literate young adults having experienced and studied a variety of musical genres, melodic, rhythmic and structural concepts.
- Starting in Kindergarten all students participate on stage in a number of musical performances each year. Fourth grade students have leads in the Lower School Musical and 8th grade students have leads in the Middle School Musical.
- All students learn melody, rhythm, pitch and how to read musical notes.
- Choral singing is introduced in the 5th grade and continue through the 8th grade.
- 8th grade students lead the audience in sing-alongs during our Christmas concert, perform solos throughout the year and bid farewell to the school with an original medley during Commencement exercises.
