Kevin P. O'Sullivan Middle School
Kevin P. O’Sullivan was the father of four children who attended Holy Child Academy. Throughout his adult life he was committed to the School and supported it as a parent, trustee and along with his wife, Carole, as one of the most generous benefactors in our history.
After the early death of three of their children from the disease cystic fibrosis, Kevin and Carole formed the O’Sullivan Children Foundation. They have been generous beyond words to different causes affecting children, establishing a pediatric center at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn and O’Sullivan Hall here at Holy Child Academy.
Mr. O’Sullivan believed that Catholic schools were essential and that Holy Child Academy should represent what is best in educational practices and principles. His and Carole’s largesse through their foundation has allowed us to afford a small teacher/student ratio and the resources to provide a deep, rich curriculum on a beautiful campus.
Kevin was a very successful television pioneer who put particular emphasis on developing wholesome programming for children. For example, through his efforts, he brought to life the wildly popular “Little House on the Prairie” series in the 70’s.
Kevin served on many boards in his lifetime but always held Holy Child closest to his heart. Sadly, he passed away in early January 2006. We are proud to honor his memory by naming our middle school after him!
