After-School Programs

• Extended Day 
  For children who need after-school care, HCA offers an Extended Day program until 5:30 p.m.  There is a small charge for this service to help cover the cost of supervision by teachers.
  
  During Extended Day hours children may do homework and/or play on the playgrounds and fields.  Snack is served.  Parents should call one of the building secretaries in the morning of the day this care is needed to reserve a space.
   
• Clubs
  After-school clubs meet throughout the year.  Activities are varied and have included tennis, chess, cooking, baking, instruction in Italian, knitting, arts and crafts . . . too many to list them all!
  
  Information about the clubs and sign-up forms are posted on the website.  Questions about the clubs should be asked of the building secretaries.
   
• Intramurals
  In the spring and fall, third and fourth graders are invited to participate in an after-school intramural sports program at no charge.  Offerings include many organized sports and games.  The program generally runs two days a week for eight weeks after school from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Many school districts offer a 4:00 p.m. bus pick-up time.
