Why Choose a Catholic Independent School?
The vast majority of adults educated in Catholic elementary schools were educated in parish or parochial schools. Holy Child Academy is not associated with a parish, hence it is not governed by a pastor or bishop and is not financed to any degree by the diocese. In that sense we are "independent" and are free to make choices parish schools would have to seek approval or funding from the diocese.
Most independent schools are non-sectarian. We are the rare Catholic independent school. In fact, we are the only independent toddler through eighth grade Catholic school on Long Island and one of a few in the entire state of New York.
