Holy Child Academy is on a wooded 14-acre campus in the village of Old Westbury. There are three buildings used for school operations and two homes, one for the head of school and one for a maintenance staff member.
The Dolan Family Early Childhood Center
Named after magnanimous donors, the Dolan Family Early Childhood Center houses our Preschool and first and second grades. In 2007 this building was completely renovated and now is a light, bright, beautiful learning space for our younger students. Each room is connected to a bathroom and kitchen center, and vestibule links allow for easy sharing between classes. A full-sized gymnasium, including indoor playground, movement area, and stage, named "Kevin's Kingdom" (after former trustee and parent, the late Kevin O'Sullivan), is at the east end of the center. In addition there are small tutoring rooms, a nurse's office, and office space for the ECC director and Summer Program staff.
Named after Carole and the late Kevin O'Sullivan, past parents and trustees and generous donors over many years, O'Sullivan Hall is the primary center of learning for third through eighth grade students. It is a solid brick building filled with large classrooms, a gymnasium, foreign language rooms, a computer lab, science lab, art room, locker rooms, offices and a large dining hall. It is a cheerful place that buzzes with activity. It takes a long time to tour O'Sullivan Hall because you are captured by the beautiful artwork on display in the halls.
Connelly Hall, named after our foundress Cornelia Connelly, was the Bliss family mansion in the early 1900s. It is a stately brick building that still has the feel of a home. Refurbished in 2009, Connelly Hall houses music rooms, the Mother Mary Gabriel Library, the Lourdes Garcia Conservatory, which looks out over our playing fields, the Villano Family Chapel, and offices for the administrative team. Parent and trustee meetings are held here, as are our "Fireside Chats."
In addition to the campus buildings, there is an outdoor pool, two large playgrounds, tennis courts, a nature trail through the woods known as the "Holy Path," and acres and acres of grassy areas. It is an ideal place to learn and grow.
