We are delighted to provide you with information about Holy Child Academy, one of a dozen schools nationwide that form the Holy Child Network of Schools. In 1846, Cornelia Connelly founded the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and opened the first Holy Child School. Her educational philosophy—that children learn best in an atmosphere of love and respect—was quite revolutionary in its time, but it rings very true today.

On our wooded 14-acre campus, we offer small classes, competitive sports, challenging academics, music, art, and dance, and a community of teachers, students, parents, and staff that is uniquely warm and caring. A mother said recently, “There is no school like Holy Child anywhere on Long Island.” We believe that is so, and we invite you to visit the school, tour the buildings and grounds, observe classes in session, and experience that difference for yourself.

The admissions process is as follows:

1. Parents tour the school with an administrator.

2. Parents complete an application for each child.

3. Each child visits the school, attends classes, and is tested.

4. Student records and recommendations are reviewed.

5. A decision is made by the Admissions Committee.
